that's not mao bee at all...

I am so sad to hear about Anomy's kitty! Poor Thistle. May the beebee rest in peace. And fly in on angelkitty wings to say "a mao!" every once in a while.

Sigh.

do obey all kinds of rules here, don't run away here

Please note that I now have a comments bar. Feel free to make all kinds of encouraging, helpful, empowering comments. Negative comments will rankle me, and leave me feeling vexed and off-kilter for at least 48 hours. Maybe more than that. If your conscience can handle it, fine-O. If not, think twice, rudesby!

So my hair is red. Before when I thought I dyed it red? I didn't dye it this red. It's real damn red now. I guess it looks "good" because that's the word that lots of people have used to my face, but I think the appelation I would choose is "Mob Wife." All the Italian-American Mas in my neighborhood always seemed to either dye their hair blonde or this winey-purpley shade of red I have on my head right now, and I have always associated this color with Too Much Jewelry, with Ugly But Expensive Handbag, with Overweight Crass Husband With Gigantic Gold Medallion Necklace Peeping Out of Frightenting Chest Hair Thicket Who Seems Bored/Infuriated by Everything She Says. It has some bad connotations for me, is what I'm saying. So I think I'll be dyeing it back.

Yep.

strong milk we can serve with a corn or a cup

So last weekend I went to the Third Sunday Market with my soon-to-be-roommate Geoffrey (I think his first mention deserves italics, he is a style icon), and found myself the most amazing-looking Mayan-seeming big ethnic boho necklace of all time and have been wearing it constantly for the last three days. I can report that things have been o.k. so far. I have not wiped out on my surfboard, I have not narrowly missed a darn good concussion from a big metal leaf-sclupture wall hanging thing falling on me, I have not woken in the night to find a big hairy tarantula resting comfortably under my chin while I made Peter Brady-style horror gurgles. So I think we can conclude, despite much conjecture, that the necklace is not hexed. Which is a drag, because I would have liked to meet long-dead genius Mr. Vincent Price, star of such classics as The House on Haunted Hill and The Tingler, when returning the necklace to its rightful Mayan-Tiki-Hoohah owner.

Then again, it has only been three days! MOOHOOHOOOHAAAHAAHAAHAAAAAAAA!

black jeans for your ass

Call your congressperson and tell them to not take away the cat's NPR! I mean seriously, people! Isn't it odd that all the biased news organizations have raised such a hue and cry about the "bias" on National Public Radio (the balanced reporting is what they're complaining about, I think) that congress is trying to take away 40% of their funding? Oh, because the liberal media bias is a huge problem in this country. Just look at the weak-ass coverage of the Downing Street Memo and its implications that have been basically shrugged off or undiscussed altogether by the national news media, INCLUDING NPR. And if you're reading this wondering what memo I'm referring to, then you're proving my point even more! Liberal bias, my petunia!

Oh, screw it. As if anyone is watching/listening to the news anymore, anyway. Bleed, BLEED, poor country!!!

perky, with a hint of belligerence

O.K., Nicole, I hope you're reading this. I love you and I miss you and I'm so sorry that I didn't call on your birthday that I am posting my penance for all to read on this blog. I'm not a bad friend, really. I'm just a forgetful cat. I even thought of you on the 6th and was like, I should call... and then didn't because I got all swept up in rehearsals. Did anyone ever read Mog, the Forgetful Cat? It's really good. Mog ends up saving the day, but I won't ruin it for you by telling you how.

O.K., I haven't been on the computer-machine forEVER. This will change and I will be a faithful blogger again when I move into my luxury two-bedroom-plus-den in August. I swear!

And it appears I've been tagged! I need to list my five songs I'm listening to right now in no particular order.

Alec Eiffel - Pixies
Boogie On Reggae Woman - Stevie Wonder
Once in a Lifetime - Talking Heads
Welfare Mothers - Neil Young and Crazy Horse
Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns and Roses

O.K., and if you read this blog, you're tagged, too!
Love, Catface
