I'm glad....

• that I saw the Pete Seeger documentary yesterday with my friends. It was SO great, though the dark side of my appreciation had me thinking that I was completely wasting my life and I ought to be out singing songs of freedom and peace.
• that on the way home from the movie we found a wooden chair on the side of the road and used our sheer grown-up mightiness to carry it seven or eight blocks back to the car. Though this means that in my possession I now have three chairs and no desks.
• that I'm listening to WSUI on my computer at work, although it makes me so completely full of longing for home that I'm getting cranky and using it as an excuse to eat these wafer cookie things from the vending machine.
• that I'm smarter than I used to be. Although with this smartness comes the knowledge of how dumb I am.
• that I'll be in Iowa soon with puppies and kitties. There is no downside to that.
