I'm a good cat because I can manage

I am at my mom's now. I have been here intermittently over the past couple of weeks. I am a wandering gypsy right now. Why, do you ask? Well, let me tell you.

I sublet my apartment to my good friend Hannah through Aug 13, thinking that I would be able to simply live at my mothers, go visit my friend Flossie, maybe even hang around Iowa City for a while after Rep ended. Well, in the car on the way to my mom's I got a call from Chicago Shakespeare. They needed an emergency understudy for Kate in their Short Shakespeare Shrew because the original actress got badly hurt and their understudy had been hired as her permanent replacement. So until August 12, I'm understudying the understudy. It's really fun, I have the part memorized and all the business (I was terribly proud of myself on Friday when I went through my first rehearsal without calling for line once. I'm a badass.) and I'm getting paid well for this, BUT I have nowhere in the city to stay. I thought I would stay with my friend Andy if I needed to be in the city, but he's actually out of the city on a family emergency, so I've been going from house to house sleeping on floors and couches.
