i can admit it...

... I drink Starbucks. I do. And I like it. It tastes good to me, and all the stuff people say about it being the cheapest possible coffee and so bad for the world and blah? I listen and smile and nod politely, and then I still drink it because I like it. Reason being, I like coffee that blasts me into a separate dimension of time and space. Diner coffee might as well be water to me, I drink ten cups of it and feel almost nothing, except maybe less thirsty. I like coffee that is strong and black.

So some mess has been floating arond Chicago that Dunkin Donuts coffee is better than Starbucks. They had some kind of Pepsi Challenge I guess, and Dunkin Donuts won. So there's a DD in the Mart where I work, and it's actually a little easier to get to than the Starbucks, and the lines move quicker and all that, so this morning I was like what the hell, I'll get me a cup of it and see how it is.

It's official.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. Dunkin Donuts is NOWHERE NEAR Starbucks in terms of flavor or smell or caffeine kick, and now... well, now that I am sitting here 1.37 poorer with a SMALL cup of not good enough... I'm a little pissy.

But frankly, I've been out of sorts for about two and a half years because not only is Starbucks not as good as the J Hole, but there is also no good takeout Chinese anywhere on the planet. Nothing as good as the Sesame Shrimp at China Star. Nothing.

So I'm glad I'll be home soon!!! And I found a subletter for my apartment so I won't go broke!!! Hooray!!!
