So many of my dreams are coming true in the next couple of days that I am sort of amazed by it all. I have always had a hankering to learn how to play the saw, ever since I realized that you could. I think I was probably seven when I realized this was a possibility, that one could extract haunting woo-woo sounds from a piece of bent metal when properly bowed. So that's TWENTY-SIX YEARS people while I bided my time, waiting for me to not be too busy eating chips and watching countdown shows, so that I might have the requisite few hours for me to get a saw lesson.
Tonight, the wait is over.
I am finally going to learn to play the singing saw. Though I'm kind of of two minds about the fact that, once I know how to play the saw myself, will the woo-woos still be as haunting as they were when I was seven? I guess I find that shit out on Sunday.
ALSO, I'm enrolled in a flamenco class that starts this week. I have been obsessing about flamenco ever since Yerma (a.k.a. I Used to Love Him, but I Had to Kill Him, and I found a lady who will teach me in her basement! Very gitano, no? The thing is, I am going to REALLY annoy my roommates now. As it is, it sounds like the running of the bulls of Pamplona when I do aerobics in the front room. Now, I am taking up a dance style that requires staccato, repetitive clapping and pounding of feet.
Has anyone got a couch I can sleep on?
