pretty giko: i had such a good time. thanks for being such a good time.

Went to Iowa this weekend, it was totally SUGAR. Happy birthday to Gypsy! We went to a party on Saturday night and I danced with someone who is apparently the student body president of the University of Iowa. All I know is, he can get down and get back up again. I also met two people of the Luxemburgher persuasion. I have never met anyone who told me they were Luxemburgher-American, and I met two such people at one party. It kind of makes sense that they would all hang out together... apparently Jackson County, Iowa has some lasting Luxie colony that's been there since 200 years or something... and Luxish was these people's grandparents' first language, even though their grandparents both grew up in America. So I said, how do you say 'pancakes' in Luxish? None of them knew. COME ON! That's total bullshit.

Also went to BIRTHDAY BRUNCH for GYPSY the next day. Went into a carbohydrate coma. Liked it a lot. But I had waffles, not pancakes. Still had a bad taste in my mouth about the night before.

Also, I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I saw Dane Cook at the SteaknShake by my house a few days ago. He apparently did a concert at Braden, and then was hungry afterward, because he went to the SteaknShake. I was there grading papers and also gawking. Actually, I had no idea who he was, and if someone hadn't told me he was Dane Cook, I would have continued to chew my fries contentedly and certainly would have made no mention of the incident here.

Another example of fame TWISTING our national consciousness! Or mine, anyway.
