yes i like pina coladas

I'm supposed to be memorizing things and when that is the task at hand my mind tends to wander to anything but what I'm supposed to be memorizing. So I get on the internet because it's BUGGING me, what are the lyrics to that one song, that song from the seventies that's like BAH-DE-YAH, haminah remember, BAH-DE-YAH, dancin in September, BAH-DE-YAH, hamahshimayaaaaah-de-BLAAAAAAAAAH...

So I found the lyrics, and they're this:

Do you remember the 21st night of September?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away

Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away

Aaahh Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in September
Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day

Readers, all these years I've been wondering what the hell these people are actually saying. I assumed that it was like the guy from the Doobie Brothers; there were real lyrics to the songs, you just can't understand them because they get caught in his moustache. Now I find out the lyrics are literally BAH-DE-YAH. Man!

My thoughts are with you
Holding hands with your heart to see you
Only blue talk and love,
Remember how we knew love was here to stay

Now December found the love that we shared in September.
Only blue talk and love,
Remember the true love we share todayyy yeah

This is also the part where they go uh, Uh, UH! and then:

Aaahhh Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in September
Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day

There wasn´t Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in September
Ba de ya - golden dreams were shiny days

The bells were ringing
oh our souls were singing
Do you remember, never a cloudy day? yow

Yow. Yow is a lyric in this song. I'm not complaining, I just wish I'd known. All these years when I was singing in my car I was doing the thing where you sort of quiet down and mumble at the point where you're not sure what the lyrics are and ALL THE WHILE THE LYRICS WERE LITERALLY JUST BAH-DE-YAH. And uh, Uh, UH. And Yow.

Hey Earth, Wind, and Fire! Was there ever any reason for this cat to feel like a silly? Answer:

There wasn´t Ba de ya............
