half past 8 friend changing club
I am having a really good time lately! My classes are actually getting pretty fruitful. I've discovered that, like televisions and cars and other mechanical apparati, when it seems like things aren't working you should kick them. Because then, inexplicably and often, they start working again. I have been metaphorically kicking things for a while now when they stop working and it's been good. I have applied the kicking in Meisner class and movement class, and acting class and rehearsals, and always when there's kicking, there's progress.
I also have discovered that, by becoming the kind of teacher I always hated ("who can tell me what we talked about in class on Monday/what was in the reading for today/what I just said? I ask questions I already know the answers to, just to force you all to talk!"), and it has actually made me WAY better at leading discussions. It's akin, my friends, to kicking something that's not working. I do something I consider annoying until something not-so-very-annoying starts happening.
This is an annoying post, I think. I will try kicking it. Click here for an illustration of me kicking it.
