I got an apartment in Bloomington! It's so cute, it's a little efficiency in an old house, and it has a fireplace with a mirror over it, and a cute little bathroom (with a tub!!) and lots of closets for all my accumulated crapola. I will have space in the kitchen to even have people over for dinner if I want to. And the windows are huge. And I can have a CAT if I want! FINALLY!!!!

I'm paying a little more than I wanted to, but I saw a lot of really squalid tenements in the same price range. This one renter wanted to know why I didn't take this one efficiency on White Place (the historical district) that was UNBELIEVABLE, but I didn't want to say that for some reason, and so I hemmed and hawed and I finally came up with "uhhh... too basementy." The place was GROSS, there was water damage everywhere and it smelled icky and looked like even if I cleaned it up it would still be tacky. Sorry, too basementy. She acted like she didn't understand, and I left, a la Pee Wee Herman leaving Chuck's Bike-O-Rama.
