Well, there you have it.

I am the no-sleep lady today, as well. I have no earthly idea why, but I am up right now. I was up about three hours ago, too, because that's when my gentleman caller quitted my rooms (the visit was of a platonic nature, I assure you). While the prospect of doing a full run of Sylvia and then teching The Dining Room until 11 p.m. tonight on three hours of sleep is daunting, I'm kind of glad I'm up. I've been sleeping until 10 a.m. the past few days, and I just am losing respect for myself. Who am I, if not the She Who Is Up First?

I just want to take a moment to point out here that I am not able to use italics or bold, or to do hyperlinks. I am working from the eMac at the Co-op and for some reason the little buttons don't show up when I'm blogging from a Mac. So I have all kinds of errors and missed opportunities to link to bizarre, interesting things because of that. So if my posts seem colorless, I apologize.

O.K., my friends and I were discussing Words That Sound Gross, and I submit that the words "pellicle" and "slacks" are inherently blucky (the word "slacks" is especially squirm-inducing when it is whispered). Also, the term "make love" can become really horrifying depending on how you enunciate. And mind you, no one was suggesting that these words should be stricken from the language or anything... it was sort of a linguistic version of the "Smell This!" conversation. I don't know, maybe it was one of those conversations you had to be present for in order to appreciate fully.

Ahem.

*sound of a distant lawnmower... a dog barks in the distance*

I don't really have anything to post about, I guess. Sorry.
