fun, funner, supermegafunnest!

I am just back from the funnest afternoon (I know someone who said that her regard for me began the in the third grade when I had a stand off with Mrs. Dudek because she tried to make me conjugate the word fun using more and most. I said it then and I'll say it now, people: the rules of grammar fluctuate.)! We all went to my friend Lena's house and had Mexican food and drank mojitos (mush a lime, a bunch of mint leaves, and some sugar with a mortar and pestle, shake it up with two shots of rum and then sit back and enjoy your beverage). It definitely served as a conversation enhancer, and I think all of us involved in the Dining Room are officially in love with one another (the agape kind, of course). It also makes you overuse parentheticals (it has, me!).

We also tried watching The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, but we didn't get through the whole thing, unfortunately. And oddly, despite the fact that everyone in the cast is pretty brainy, I think we probably would have been better off trying to pay polite attention to What's Up, Doc? (here I go with the parentheses again, but I just want to say that apparently Madeline Kahn is brilliant in this movie and I have never seen it. I should be making better use of allmovie.com, but I don't really ever remember to do that kind of thing... my latest obsession, though, has become Franca Rame, who is this incredible Italian actor/writer who worked with Dario Fo and I want to read everything I can find about her... o.k., you know what? I'm still in the parenthetical. See this is why I should not be allowed to use exotic punctuation [though even as I write this, I'm thinking what a wonderful spot that would be for a semicolon!])! I think perhaps a nap might be in order; it's been a bit of a long day.

I will close by saying that the inability to italicize things that require italicizing is KILLING ME.

Good evening-
